Primary Sources: Indigenous Perspectives

A collection of items containing primary sources.

Indigenous Perspectives

The goal of this page is to include works that are often difficult to find - indigenous perspectives. My hope is to make them more accessible here.

Primary sources from Indigenous perspectives provide an authentic, unfiltered view of their histories, cultures, and experiences, allowing for accurate representation. They help reclaim Indigenous agency and voice, counteracting historical misrepresentation. These sources preserve valuable cultural knowledge and challenge dominant historical narratives, offering a fuller understanding of events like colonization. Using Indigenous perspectives in research promotes ethical scholarship, fostering empathy, respect, and cultural understanding.
